Women’s Basketball: First Game of the Season

On Wednesday, November 30th, the Women’s basketball team had their first game against the Jefferson Lions. The Jefferson Lions are not in our normal 2A Tri-River Conference. During the pre-season, we will be playing non-league teams such as Scio, Santiam Christian, and Dayton. 

The starters for the game were Amy Martinez, Clara Persons, Adelle Otter, Hadley Foster, and Kaylee Silbernagel. Clara Persons ended the night with 18 points. Makenzie Schacher followed with 15 points. The final score of the game was 52 to 40, Rams taking the win. After the game, Coach Bart Stepp said, “We all played very well.”  The next game is Friday, December 2nd, against Santiam Christian. The women’s JV starts at 4:30 pm and Varsity starts after at 6 pm.
