Why I like Drawing
By: Liam McSorley
Ever since I was little, I have always liked drawing or doodling on pieces of printer paper or just the margins of schoolwork (Much to the dismay of my parents and teachers). I could have improved at realistic bodies, but I just liked to draw whatever was on my mind, whether that be anything from cars to forested landscapes. Drawing was always just a fun thing to do. In third grade, a couple of friends and I started a “comic book” of sorts. It was just our characters going on adventures and doing whatever our eight-year-old imaginations wanted. Looking back, I see it wasn’t perfect, but it was fun to make.
Drawing has always meant something special to me. At Lourdes, we were allowed to draw in our free time on Fridays, so I would always come home from school with my backpack loaded with all sorts of drawings. The bad thing about that is that most of them have some kind of special thing about them, so I ended up with stacks of random drawings. Anyways, that’s not important. What is important is what drawing means to me. It is just a great way to spend your free time.
