What I do during the Summer
By: Stuart McLaughlin
Summer can be a relaxing time to kick up your feet after a long school year, but after a while, it starts to get a bit boring. Most people do a variety of things to fill in this gap of time, like get a job or help around the house. This summer, I will also be getting a job, which will help a lot with having something to do. But when I am not working, I will be running.
Running is a sport that requires a lot of time and effort to reach your full potential. Especially for someone like me, who is a bit more advanced in running, getting faster takes a ton of training. That training for me will be around 50 to 55 miles per week, which is about 7 to 8 miles per day, with two workouts and one long run. I will also be running at the Ultimook running camp with a few of my classmates. Last year it was tons of fun, and with even more people coming this time, I bet it will be fantastic. The only downside to all this running is how exhausting it gets, but luckily, your body tends to get used to it after a while.
