The Wrestling Rams

Wrestling has always been a big part of my life. I’ve loved it since the first time I stepped on the mat. Now Regis has finally given its students a chance to wrestle here, rather than having to go to Stayton.

Last season, our school had 8 wrestlers on the team: Thomas Bischoff, Luke Bischoff, Cameron Diacetis, Gavin Andall, John Nusom, Mark Nusom, Logan Kirsch, and Noah Emch, with Chris Bischoff as the coach. For the state tournament, 5 qualified and 2 placed, with Thomas placing third and Luke placing fourth. This team may have been new to the sport, but they accomplished so much in that short season.

One of our wrestlers, John Thomas Nusom, was a first-year wrestler last year. However, he had a lot to say about wrestling and the people he did it with. John said, “It’s a great experience, a wonderful atmosphere, and the whole team grew really close.” John may still be a little new to this sport, but he loves it just as much as I do, and especially loves the experience he gets to have with his friends.

This year, we hope to have at least 12 athletes wrestle for the Regis Rams, and lead us to another great season. If you are interested in wrestling this year go talk to any of the Bischoff kids or Chris Bischoff. Bye and keep reading on the Rampage.
