The Girls Varsity Game

By: Monse Juarez and Morgan Clary

On December 4, the girls’ Varsity team started with Hadley, Mayla, Mylah, Abby, and Olivia. We had a rough start with them winning by six and us with zero. Olivia and Mylah were the ones who started to get us the first 8 points. Then we started to win by a solid ten but with the girl’s good defense and fast movements, we were doing better. The girl’s varsity team did great with rebounds quick passes and steals. We were doing so much better. Then we had a pretty good lead. In the second quarter they were still fighting with a pretty intense game the girls pushed through working hard and quick passes and faking them so they would get a better angle. With the help of some of the girls making threes, we got a pretty good lead. Also with some quick steals, we were able to get some easy layups.

At the start of the third quarter, coming out of halftime, the Regis Rams were up with a score of 17-11 against The Crosshill Christian Eagles. Midway through the fourth quarter, the Rams hold the lead with 34-26.  With a minute left in the game, the Rams fell behind the Eagles 38-37 with 1:28 remaining in the game. The Rams take back their lead of 41-38 with a minute left on the clock. The Regis Rams win the game with a final score of 41-38. A great way to kick off the season for the girls and the first win under coach Tim Manning. GREAT JOB RAMS!!
