The Dove Stained Glass Window

By Benjamin Valladares-Cormier

In 2016, Mr. Keith Kintz made a beautiful stained glass window for the Regis Chapel in the Dome. The work of art portrays a dove with its wings spread wide over the chapel, representing the Holy Spirit shining its love for us. The remodeled chapel was completed the year before Mr. Kintz finished the dove.

Mr. Kintz is one of 13 kids born to Joanne and Gib Kintz. Most of their kids graduated from Regis, including Keith. He studied at the University of Portland and later switched over to Oregon State University(OSU). He had taken a night class for stained glass and it later became a hobby.

The work in the chapel began in 2015 and Mr. Kintz created his first masterpiece and later came back to do a second one the next year. The dove was inspired by the artwork in the Sistine Chapel because Mark Dol, the religious education director at Immaculate Conception Church, suggested it to Keith. The rededication of the Christ the King Chapel took place on November 7th, 2015.
