Thank You Senior Softball Players
By Myla Etzel
Regis Softball has three Seniors this year in the softball program: Amy Martinez, Alli Hendricks, and Melissa Gonzalez. Alli Hendricks was our centerfielder and she was amazing at it. Alli always has a smile on her face and she always brightened up the room (or field) when she walked into practice. When asked how being part of a team so young shaped the team, and how the leadership role she held will help after high school, she answered, ¨It was good to have a new perspective from young players who are already experienced so the team can only become better from there. The leadership role will help me after high school so I can work and communicate way better with people.¨ Alli was an amazing leader on the softball team, she never had a bad attitude on the field which helped the team model our attitude after hers.
Amy was our catcher and our utility, and she was anywhere and everywhere. Amy brought up our attitudes and always put a smile on our faces whether it was a good game or bad game. Amy had a huge leadership role in catching, and she did an amazing job always keeping the energy high and helping out whenever she could.
Melissa Gonzalez was our third baseman, and she played amazing at it. If anyone has ever been at third base, they would know that is a really hard position because the softballs are hit the hardest and the fastest at you. Melissa had a really hard-working attitude and always tried to get better, whether it was getting extra balls hit at her before a game or sitting in the dugout cheering on her teammates. Melissa always had a smile on her face and brought a smile to everyone.
