Softball interview
By: Addison Bishop
I, along with Hadley and Mayla, interviewed one of our softball coaches, Coach Tim Manning, about the softball program. We talked about how it has been good but difficult that he enjoys coaching because he likes being competitive and loves building kids up to be the best that they can be. Mayla then asked Coach Manning, her dad, how he felt having his own kid on the team. He was not very sure how to answer that question at first but stated that coaching his children has “its ups and downs,” and it was fun to see his daughter grow along with the rest of the kids on the team throughout the season.
Softball is a sport that is about 70% mental and 30% physical. Having good coaches for the Regis program is a great thing because they know just how important it is to understand all the facets of the game, especially base running. Few softball coaches focus on this, but it has helped contribute to several victories this year for the softball team.
