Sacred Art at Regis
By Alexa Gough
There is one piece of art that has a special meaning to me. It is currently located in Room 2. The art piece has a blue background with green at the bottom, representing grass. In the middle of the art piece, there are four black circles, and each of them has a symbol in them. In the first one, there is a heart representing God’s love for us. The second symbol is a division sign that shows how “sin” separates us from God. The cross symbol represents how Jesus saves us by dying on the cross. The final symbol is a question mark by which the artist asks how we will respond to Jesus’ offer of mercy. Additional copies of this painting are also in the hallway of the academic building and have provoked discussion among the students. “This piece of art has always spoken to me every time I have seen it.” Hailey Kearns
