Regis tennis player at Stayton

I am a student at Regis, but I am playing tennis for Stayton High School. It can be challenging at times, but overall, it has been a fun and exciting experience that has helped my confidence grow. It has put me in a position where I had to get out of my comfort zone and do things I usually would not. For example, when I first decided to play for them, I did not know anyone at Stayton who was playing tennis, so I had to introduce myself and make friends with people whom I might not usually approach or interact with. It also gave me a chance to interact with people who came from different schools, whom I might not have been able to interact with otherwise. 

  It is hard at times, for instance, when there is an away match. Since I am going to another school, I have to get out extra early to get there and make sure I get on the bus on time. It was also hard to break out of my shell and talk to people that I do not know at all, but it has been worth it. At times, it can be frustrating because the other girls go to school together, so they talk about people and events that I was not involved in, and it can be hard sometimes to be engaged in conversations. Even through the challenges, the experience has been unique, and I recommend it to anyone.
