Regis Rams Wrestling

On December 2nd, the Regis Rams wrestling team started their season off at the Deven Dawson Memorial Tournament in Harrisburg, Oregon. The Rams had a lot of people competing. Eli Bischoff led off with a first-round bye, won his second match, and took a tough loss in his third match. Trevon Kuenzi, competing in his first tournament, took a tough loss but he never gave up and kept on fighting to the end. Lucas Bischoff also got a first-round bye, was victorious in his second match, and lost his third. Thomas was the athlete of the night for the Regis Rams, after crushing the competition up to the final match before losing to the top-ranked wrestler in the state. Logan Kirsch had a hard-fought match but came up short. Noah Emch beat his first opponent and then took a loss.

This past week was also the first season for lady wrestlers in Regis history. Wrestler Mac Parrish won her first match then lost her second match in a hard fight. Keely Emch got a first-round bye and then won her second match for a third-place finish. To round it up, Josefina Swann-Pena took a tough loss but kept on fighting to the end. Nice job to all the Regis wrestlers, and keep up the hard work for the rest of the season.

Coach Bishoff said “Overall I am impressed with our team’s performance. It was a very tough tournament, and I was able to see where we could improve.”
