Regis Baseball’s New Batting Cage

By: Makenzie Schacher

Baseball is an essential sport to the Regis St. Mary community. It has been here as long as any of our families have known. Every day after school, our baseball athletes work harder and harder to sharpen their mental and physical skills. However, like other sports, baseball needs a place to properly train for upcoming games in the league and playoffs. Last year, a new softball batting/pitching cage was built. It was a great add-on to our already fancy field. This year, Regis is happy to announce the addition of a new batting facility for our baseball boys. It will be a perfect way to continue to practice while our spring weather remains a mystery.

The batting cage is the large, green building located on the left side of the Regis baseball field by the home dugout. Inside will be two batting cages with nets around them to keep baseballs in the cage and away from every other activity. Pitchers can fully warm up and practice on a full-length 60″ pitching rubber to the side of the hitting cells. A lot of work has been put into building the new batting cage. A special thanks to everyone who has put their own time and effort into this project. You have put so much care into the creation of a new, enjoyable experience for future Regis Rams. This could not have been done without you guys!
