Regis Baseball Update

The Regis Rams baseball team is off to a great start, with a 4-5 record. The Rams came out of the gate slowly, losing the pre-season tournament 2-3. When the regular season started, the Rams played Central Linn, with a record of 2-1, winning the best-of-three matchups. This past week, the Rams played Culver and started the best-of-three matchups, losing the first game 4-3.
With Owen Eaton starting as pitcher and Rook Smith in all the gear, the Rams got off to an excellent defensive start, with no one scoring until the third inning, the game was held close. For the Rams, Korben Schumacher scored their run, which was brought in with a sacrifice fly by Owen Eaton. Also, in the third inning, the Bulldogs scored three runs with RBIs and errors. In inning five, Ethan Emch was on third and got batted in by Rook Smith, who got thrown out at first, and Korben Schumacher advanced to third, putting the game at 2-3. Unfortunately, the Rams lost 4-3 in the bottom of the 7th inning.
