Regis Baseball

This last Tuesday, the Regis Rams took on the Crosshill Christian Eagles in the first game of a three-game series. The Eagles, who were looking for their first league win this season, were 2-5 on the season up to this point. Meanwhile, the Rams were hoping to see through their sixth straight win, coming into this game with a series sweep over Culver. Starting pitching for the Rams was Bryson Nygren. For the Eagles, Miles Lute would be taking the bump in his sixth appearance this year.
Regis started strong with three runs in the first inning. Neither team could add to the score until the fifth inning when Regis increased their lead to five and then in the sixth when the Rams added three more runs on the board. Crosshill Christian couldn’t respond to this deficit as the contest ended in an eight-to-zero Regis victory. Key players in this win were Bryson Nygren, who pitched a complete game shut-out, as well as Max Eaton, who had a triple. Noah Koenig and Kollin Schumacher also had impacts as they both had hits and came around to score multiple times. Regis head coach Kyle Baker said before the game, “Hitting is contagious,” and that clearly showed towards the end of the game as the Rams added five runs in the last two innings.
