Palm Springs Cheer Competition

Alexa and I headed to Palm Springs, California on January 30, 2025, for the Spirit Sports Cheer Competition. We enjoyed a fun time with friends and family. On Thursday, January 30, we flew from the Portland airport to the Palm Springs airport in California. I arrived around 5:00 pm and headed to my hotel and then to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant. On Friday we spent the morning shopping and then got lunch before heading to cheer practice at the Palm Springs Convention Center. There we spent about an hour outside on the dead mats warming up our stunts and preparing for the next day. 

On Saturday we got ready and headed to the convention center to compete. When I arrived I headed to warm-ups with my team and before I knew it we were on the stage. We performed our routine and hit zero but got a lower score than we had hoped for landing us in 6th place out of 8 teams. Hitting zero means we had 0 deductions and did a perfect routine. Luckily Day 2 (Sunday) We competed again and hit zero yet again but increased our score by over 1 point and were much happier with the results. Then that night we attended awards and ended up in 4th place overall. We were much happier with this result and were very proud of what we put onto the floor both days. We then had Monday and Tuesday in Palm Springs to soak up the sun and enjoy some time with friends and family before we had to fly home again. Overall it was a great trip and a successful weekend.
