Mass at Immaculate Conception Church

On January 31st, Regis High School went to Immaculate Conception Church in Stayton as part of the Catholic Schools Week celebration. High above the servers preparing the altar and the younger St. Mary’s students settling into their pews, the Regis student body found their seats in the loft and readied themselves for Mass. Father Luan Nguyen and Deacon Geoff Schmitt led the holy celebration while altar servers Hank Foltz (Freshman), Lucas Koehnke (Sophomore), Henry Miotke, and Rhys Kirkpatrick (both Seventh Graders) assisted. When asked about his experience serving, Hank Foltz said, “I really enjoyed how passionate everyone sounded singing.” The singing truly was beautiful, with songs such as Holy Spirit You Are Welcome Here, Bread of Life, and Ave Maria, the loveliest hymn sung that day. Always trying to be a good example, the Regis student body, led by Mr. Ripp and Mrs. Dol, showed the younger kids the joys of fully participating in the celebration of the Eucharist through praise and adoration.
After the Mass, the Catholic Schools Week celebration continued as everyone returned to campus for a community lunch of burgers, chips, and popsicles. A huge thank you to the parents and staff who participated in creating a fantastic day for Regis and Saint Mary students!
