Make-A-Wish Foundation

This week, Regis collaborated with Stayton High School to create a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. How it works is that both schools set up events to raise money to donate to the system. During the week, there was a volleyball tournament against Stayton High School, in which Regis won 19-25, 7-25, and 6-25 consecutively. Some highlights include Joshua Crowell winning the dance off against the Stayton mascot, the Eagle. On Friday, there will be Dutch Bros selling drinks at the Ace Hardware store from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
However, these special events don’t come along without reasoning. There is a story behind this fundraiser. President Alex Pelayo met up with the President of Stayton High School at a convention at the beginning of the school year, and the two agreed to have a collaboration of some sort. Which is how this fundraiser was created. This is a very new experience for both schools. So it’s intriguing whether or not this system will become a tradition, but it is possible, considering that the event seems successful, and with the help of other donors for the event, it is no surprise that what will happen shortly!
