Homecoming Bonfire

By: Madison Silbernagel

The bonfire was a unique experience. It was fantastic to see all of the people come together. We all got food and were jamming out to music while talking. The staff and parents put in a lot of effort for all of us to have fun.

Seeing how the wood pile went up in flames so quickly was amazing. I did not understand why we needed firefighters to supervise the bonfire until I saw how big it got. The fire was emitting so much heat that Jocey Swann, Macy Silbernagel, and I could not sit on her tailgate without getting extremely hot.

Standing next to the fire while it was at its peak was impossible! It felt as if you were burning within ten feet of it. Seeing the people who wanted to go past the caution tape was hilarious. They wanted to feel the heat but got reprimanded for it. The parents and staff were doing their best to keep us from getting too close.

It was overall a pleasant experience at the bonfire. The atmosphere was relaxed and rowdy at the same time. People were going from group to group trying to talk with everyone. I think that so far, this has been my most remarkable experience at Regis. I had a lot of fun and can not wait for next year’s bonfire.
