History of Regis Boys Basketball 2023-24

This article is about the Regis boys basketball team’s history in 2023 and how they won a great winning streak. The Regis basketball team’s first game and first win in 2023 was when they played Jefferson, the scores were 79-20. The Regis Varsity and junior varsity basketball teams played 32 games last year. The Boys basketball team won 22 out of 32 games that year. The teams that they lost to were Salem Academy, Santiam, Kennedy, Sprague, South Salem, Silverton, West Salem, and MCA.  The coach of the  Regis Basketball team, Jason Koehnke, was named the Central Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2022. He is still the Varsity coach for the Regis team. 

The   2023 varsity players were Jude Pokory, Rook Smith, Julius Pokory, Erik Silbernagel, Rylan Bischoff, Fletcher Gould, Eli Silbernagel, Roman Gould, Lucas Koehnke, Stuart Mclaughlin, Isaiah Koehnke, Jake Laube, and Luke Castillo. The junior varsity players were  Rook Smith, Kingston Whitmire, Stuart McLaughlin, Benjamin Valladares-Cormier, Trayton Hume, and Christian Dejesus. 2023-2024 was a great year for Regis they won a lot of games that season, except they didn’t make the championship, but they won a lot of games that year.  

Basketball this year is coming up, it starts on December 12, 2024 It is going to be great. This year in May, Jason Koehnke went to the Regis Middle School to talk to the 8th graders about joining the Regis’s junior varsity basketball team in high school, Pizza was served too! Regis has had an outstanding team, they are hoping for more players every year  This is one of the best Sports Regis High School has. Some of the players from 2023 are still going to play this year. Hopefully, Regis Makes it to the Championship this year it would be cool since they haven’t made it since 2016, but let us hope so. Well, that is all for this article, goodbye and go RAMS!!!
