Freshman’s First Spirit Week

On Monday, October 10, spirit week finally began in the Regis hallways. A few weeks before homecoming week, during advisory, the Freshman class voted on their hallway theme, and they all decided on the USA. On Monday morning, the hallways were divided into four different themes. The Seniors were campers; their class, of course, dressed up as campers and they won first place for best hallway. The Juniors chose the theme of Cars, the movie, and came dressed as those characters. Next, the Sophomore theme was Monsters Inc., and they also dressed up as characters from the film. Finally, the Freshmen came dressed in red, white, and blue, and some even came in as Uncle Sam, showing true patriotism. During that day, macho volleyball took place after the fifth period, in which the Senior boys won against all the other classes.
On Tuesday, the whole school had to dress up as either biker or surfer. Our class was half and half with the subject. Most students of all grades showed good spirits by dressing up drastically well. Once again, the Seniors won the title of first place for best dressed. Luckily, Freshmen won second place.
On Wednesday, everyone wore their class t-shirts based on their theme. The Freshmen’s shirts had blue and red fireworks and the word “ Merica.” After lunch, the teachers and staff played against the Senior boys, and the old guys won again. Afterward, at 5:30, the powderpuff game began, and like these past few days, the Seniors won, but this time the Senior girls. After the game, the school had a big bonfire and ate hotdogs. Mylah said, “It was a great way to bond with the rest of the school’s students.’’ She later stated that she and her classmates played powder puff football.
Thursday came along, and it was like any ordinary school day, but now the whole school wore pajamas, and Christmas pajamas were trending. Finally, on the last day of homecoming, everyone had to come dressed in extreme green and gold for the football game later that night, which Regis won! During halftime, the homecoming princesses and princes came in, and last year’s king and queen crowned Cole Laube and Macy Adams as the new king and queen. It was a fun time to hang out with friends and cheer on the football team.
It was a fun week to experience.
