Deven Dawson Tournament

By Diego Lopez-Palacios

This week the wrestling team went to the Deven Dawson tournament at Harrisburg High School. I woke up at 4:30 am and immediately went to Regis. Most of us couldn’t eat or drink anything before weigh-ins. They named each school and we weighed in at 8:00 am. After weigh-ins, team members either bought something from the concession stand or ate something that our parents made us. Matches were held from lightest to heaviest weight class and then the girls went last. All of the first-year wrestlers went 0-2 in their matches. The girls went last and also finished 0-2. Thomas Bischoff was the most successful for the Rams, as he won the tournament and went 5-0. As a side note, Josh Crowell was unable to wrestle at the tournament but broke the team chili dog-eating record. The record was previously five and held by John Nusom. Josh broke the record by consuming seven chili dogs in under one hour.
