Cross Country Thus Far

By: Liam McSorley

So far, Cross Country is doing well. The team is improving daily, with one meeting under our metaphorical belt already. Last Saturday, most of the team headed to St. Boniface Church in Sublimity for the Harvest Fest Fun Run. William Miotke ran in the race and said, “It was a pretty good warmup meet, nothing too huge or difficult, but a good way to kick the season off.” There are at least four other meets in September alone, so we are looking forward to a great month. A big one that many remember from last year is the Three Course Challenge at Camp Rilea on the Coast. While not remembered for the most luxurious conditions, this meet was tremendous fun as it was pouring sideways with solid winds. Many runners, myself included, count the days until the meet.

The team this year is also large, with around twenty runners.. This Cross Country season is shaping up to be a great time, and I look forward to seeing what it brings—special thanks to the XC Coaches and William for their input.
