Cross and Crown Window

In the Regis Chapel, if you look to the front and the upper right window, you will see the symbol of a cross and crown. As students at Regis, it is important that we understand the meaning of this symbol and how it can help us in our spiritual lives. 

The crown and cross symbolize the reward that we will receive in heaven. It shows we will be treated well in heaven because, to humans, a crown means royalty, and royalty means you are treated well. I think the cross represents God, so the crown around the cross should show the reward of being in heaven if we follow God. 

This symbol is supposed to influence you to pursue God, but it shouldn’t be the only reason. You should want to help people if you are given a chance, whether it’s holding the door open for someone or helping someone understand their homework. Your objective shouldn’t be to become a king in heaven; it should be to do what’s right even if no one else sees because God will notice.
