Community of Regis
By: Kinley Schade
Regis is not just made up of the students that attend there, but by the teachers, coaches, parents and community members that support them on a regular basis. There are 114 students that are registered at Regis from 9th grade to 12th grade in the 2024-2025 school year. Many of the students participate in sports including football, volleyball, cross country, cheer, basketball, wrestling, softball, baseball, and track. They also participate in theater productions and do many community service projects. Most students attend mass regularly and are included in the services.
The teachers and coaches at Regis are very supportive of the students. Coaches are voluntary, donating much of their time. Teachers are often not just found in the classroom, but at after school activities cheering and supporting the students in sports. They are often the first to be at the school and the last to leave at the end of the day.
Parents, family and community members are found in great abundance at Regis. They are the “backbone” of the school. Regis has many families that have attended for generations and a lot of the grandparents who attended the schools can be found helping in the classrooms and volunteering at events. Lots of the family members carry more Regis pride than any other. This is evident in how many drive to the Pendleton state basketball tournament.
As one can see, students do not just make up a school. It is all those who love and support them in all their efforts that make the entire school community a success.
