Christmas Morning
By: Agustin Alvaro
When I was seven it was Christmas Eve and I had gone to sleep earlier, then Santa could deliver my presents sooner. This would be the time my parents would put my presents with black sharpy wroten ¨from: Santa¨ and¨ to: Agustin.¨ under the tree. My parents would leave a candy trail from the tree to my room so that I could pick it up as I went toward the tree.
One Christmas year when I was around six years old I went to bed around 7:00 P.M. and woke up at 2:00 A.M. because it was Christmas morning. I opened my door to find a line of candy going toward the tree and picked it up. When I reached the glowing tree with all the presents underneath, not a thought passed that I should wait till morning. I opened all my presents and played with them. One present was a spaceship-like tent, which I set up in the living room. By the time I was in bed, it was around 5:20 A.M. When my parents went to the living room, they saw all the gift paper and wrapping on the floor with all the toys they bought me, especially the tent. I felt overwhelmed by them talking to me about how much money they spent and felt kind of bad about it.
