Boxing
By Diego Lopez-Palacios
I started boxing when I was in fifth grade. I’m glad I did because it changed my life for the better. I chose to box because I thought it was a cool sport. I was inspired when I saw big boxers like Canelo and Mayweather, so I joined a boxing gym. At first, I struggled with being aggressive when I got in the ring, which was weird because I had played physical sports before I started boxing, and I didn’t have a problem. Boxing has been an interesting experience because even when I am beaten, I continue to keep pushing and never give up. I eventually got better at it and I still have fun. Every now and then, I find someone who can one-up me. At first, I got mad that they beat me, but then I remembered that you can only learn from that experience and get better or give up a sport that I love so much. In the future, I hope to win big events like the Golden Gloves. Boxing has been a blessing to me and I will forever be grateful for the sport.
