Bass Fishing

By: Eli Silbernagel

In this article, you will learn how to bass fish. First of all, I will talk about when the season starts. The best time to go fishing is the end of April through the summer, or when it is warm and the water is warming up. These times are the best times to go, and the times when you will catch the most fish. As my dad says,” The summer is the prime time to catch bass.”

Next, I will talk about what bait you will need to use. The best baits to use for beginners are spinners, worms, divers, and top water bait. Spinners are baits that annoy the fish when going by”,” which makes the fish attack it. Worms are a replica of a real worm that bass eat, so they try and eat it but it has a hook in it. After they eat it you reel them up. Divers just look like little fish but they have hooks in them. Lastly, top water baits stay on the top of the water and the bass attacks them. These baits are the most common baits for beginners to use in bass fishing.

Lastly, we will be talking about bass more specifically. Small bass are typically one to two pounds. But when they start getting above four pounds, they are classified as big. There are many types of bass, but the most common here are smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. The fish I caught in this picture is a largemouth bass. Bass usually hang out in deep water in the winter, but when the water starts to warm up in the spring they move out to the banks. That concludes my bass article.
