A Little About Regis

By Hannah Hillesland

Love. Learn. Lead. Serve. This is our school’s mission statement. This school has been a part of the Stayton community for about sixty-two years. Opening in the fall of 1963. Regis has a great athletic program, including but not limited to baseball, softball, basketball, and football. Our school’s staff is very supportive of their students, also being there when you need a little extra help with math or practicing your form for basketball. They are always willing to help. This is what I find so great about Regis. This school is also very inclusive with its alumni, and we have a hall of fame to recognize those who are a part of it.

I want to take a minute to talk about our theater department. Theater is a chance for students to open up and discover a new part of them they either didn’t know they had or further express this skill in being confident and brave weather performing onstage in front of a whole audience full of family and friends and people they don’t know or being back stage and being the reason the show can even go on. Our performing arts department also wouldn’t be able to happen without Anna Boedinhiemer. There is no small part, only small actors, and in theater, you can become something you might not have been able to do, however, you can grow as an actor or person with this type of skill provided by Regis. Thank you for taking a minute to read my little thoughts on Regis.
