The year is 1967. The summer of love is raging, gas is 29 cents a gallon, and Elvis Presley marries the questionably aged Priscilla Wagner. But most notably, the RAMPAGE, Regis High School’s student newspaper, saw its genesis. Regis was young in its years, founded in 1963. Three seniors: Gayle Owen, Roberta Samek, and Steven Schmidt made up the core of the team. The newspaper grew and shrank as the years went on, going in and out of production until the early 80s.
In 2020 the RAMPAGE came back in a digital format but during COVID ceased publishing. With the assistance of the Class of 2027, the RAMPAGE has made a resurgence here, once again online for the 2023-24 school year. So, welcome to the RAMPAGE; your home for everything about Regis. Go Rams!!

Olivia Adams

My name is Olivia Adams, I am 15 years old, and I am a Freshman at Regis this year. I have been attending Regis St Mary’s for 10 years. Attending Regis St Mary’s has been a wonderful experience for me. I have gained lots of friendships, and have gotten to grow closer to God during my time here. I have also gotten to do sports at Regis St Mary’s, which have been a big part of my life. In middle school, I did track, cross country, softball, volleyball, and basketball. In high school, I participate in softball, basketball, volleyball, fall play, and spring musical. Participating in sports and activities at Regis has helped me become a better person and friend and grow closer to God. My favorite thing about Regis is the sense of community we have here and how great the staff is.
I am an only child and I have four dogs. My parents are Sara Adams and Brian Adams. My mom is an appraiser, and my dad is a construction worker. My mom went to Regis and graduated in ’94, my dad went to Stayton. My mom has 7 siblings and my dad has two. My family supports me in everything I do, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
Jonathan Delano

My name is Jonathan Delano, and I am 14 years old. This is my first year attending the Regis St. Mary family, along with the first time I am taking Rampage for my elective. When I first came to Regis, I was nervous because I had never gone to school before (I was homeschooled my whole life until this year.) and I didn’t know anyone. I am the oldest in my family, with the youngest being 7 years old. I like to play basketball, baseball, and soccer. I would like to learn how to play tennis and golf. My best friend at school is Gabriel Spencer; he and I like to hang out after school.
I love to play video games, hang out with my friends, read lots of books, and learn about how to work computers. I also live, love, and breathe airplanes. I have piloted small aircraft two different times. I also like to play airplane simulator games, too. I don’t necessarily like math, but I am really good at it. My favorite subject is probably Physics. Regis is my favorite school I have gone to, but it also the only school I have gone to. See you when you see me! GO REGIS RAMS!
Ethan Emch (Video Editor)
My name is Ethan Emch, class of 2027. I was 16 at the time of this article. I like to play baseball, as you can see in my picture. I start in the left field, and I like it a lot. Other sports I do are cross country and javelin for track. Another thing I like is hunting and running. Hunting just brings me so much peace, being out in the woods for hours at a time. I like running because I like the challenge, and it makes me feel accomplished. I like Regis so much because of the community. Everyone is nice, and the community members build each other up.
The teachers are also pretty nice and chill. My favorite class is chemistry because I am interested in the details surrounding atoms, and we get to do things other than sit at our desks and do the same thing every day. We get to do labs! I chose Rampage because all of my friends wanted to do it. I want to be something like an environmental engineer, improving people’s lives with science. I also am intersted in nuclear engeenering.
James Hayes

My name is James Hayes, and I am 15 years old. I have been a part of Regis St. Mary’s since preschool, and I’m now excited to be a freshman. I love participating in sports here, and I am lucky enough to have participated in football, basketball, and track. I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in varsity basketball with some of my friends, including Hudson, Lucas, and Kaison, and attend the state tournament in Pendleton. Sports play a huge role in my life. I’m dedicated to improving my basketball skills and am always excited to support my teammates. Competing pushes me to be my best, and I thrive on teamwork.
I am the youngest child in my family and have a sister who is a senior and a cat named Dakota. I like to hang out with my family as well as my friends and enjoy playing basketball with them in my free time. I also enjoy fishing and watching basketball, as well as running. Thanks to Regis, I’ve been able to develop further as a person, embark further in my spiritual journey, and make meaningful connections.
Hannah Hillesland (Website Editor)
My name is Hannah Hillesland, and I am 14 years old. I am a freshman and part of the graduating class of 2028. Before Regis, I attended St. Mary’s for grades 4-8. This is my first time taking RamPage. I also have a brother in 5th grade and a sister in 7th grade who go to St. Mary’s.
At home, we have two dogs, 10 chickens, and a panther chameleon. A couple of facts about me are that I have played volleyball for four years (with a different program), and I have recently picked up the hobby of crocheting, along with many other artsy activities (for which I am forever grateful to my parents for financially and mentally supporting/encouraging them.)
I love participating in the theater department, whether on stage or in the crew. I have done NSTC (North Santiam Theater Camp) since 6th grade (I think) and other theater productions with Mr. Kintz. This year, I was helping in the crew for the play “Fools” and ensemble in “Something Rotten”. Thanks for reading a little bit about me. Go Rams!
Brody Koenig

My name is Brody Koenig, and I am a freshman at Regis High School. I am the youngest of four boys, and my older brothers tortured and tormented me for years. I have been going to Regis St. Mary for about 11 years, all the way back in pre-school. I have two dogs named Xena and Trixie. All of my brothers graduated from Regis. They are all also moved out, so I’m the man of the house now.
I also like wrestling. This season, I wrestled at 106 lbs for the Regis wrestling team. I also helped with the football team, I did not play because I´m small. I am also doing golf this year for the first time. I also love hanging out with family and friends. I also like playing Xbox with my friends. I´m also the freshman rep for the student council with my friend Hudson Mumey.
Hudson Mumey

My name is Hudson Mumey, and I was born on January 8, 2010. I’m 15 years old, and I live in Stayton, Oregon, where I attend Regis High School. I have good grades, and I am a good student. I think that when I grow up, I want to pursue a career in basketball and hopefully be successful.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and playing sports. In school, l play football, basketball, and baseball. My favorite sport is basketball, and I enjoy playing with my team. In this season, we weren’t the best on JV, but for varsity, we were arguably the best in the state, with an unfortunate loss ending our season. This is a simple biography of me and what I am like.
Azzilin Smith
My name is Azzilin Smith. I am 15 years old, and I’m a freshman at Regis. Regis is the only school I have attended in my life; I have been here since preschool. This is my eleventh year attending Regis. I love it here at Regis because we get to grow our faith every day with everyone here at Regis. I have an older brother named Rook Smith who is a junior here at Regis. I enjoy playing basketball and softball. I have played sports my whole life. Throughout my life I’ve played soccer, dance team, softball, cross country, volleyball, and basketball. In basketball, my position is Post, and in softball my positions are 3rd base and 1st base. My parents’ names are Brayden and Katie. My dad went to Regis and graduated in 2001, and my mom went to Astoria High School and graduated in 1999. I also have an English bulldog named Bo, and I also have a fish that I bought with Addie, Mayla, and Olivia named Lil Red. A couple of my favorite hobbies are playing sports, hanging out with friends, blasting music when I go on random drives with my friends, and shopping. A fun fact about me is that my favorite number is 0 because growing up, every grandchild on my dad’s side was the number 0 in the sport that they did.I’m looking forward to the rest of my four years at Regis. Go Rams!
Harper Stoops (Video Editor)

Hi, my name is Harper Stoops, and I am a freshman at Regis High School. I was born on November 20, 2008, in Fresno, California. I moved to Mt. Angel, Oregon in 2015 and have lived there ever since. I have three other siblings with my older sister, Zerrell, a senior currently attending Regis as well. My two younger siblings attend other schools until they are old enough to attend Regis as well. So far my experience with Regis has been very positive and I don’t think I would be as happy as I am at a different school.
I enjoy playing sports like baseball and cross country, the latter of which I qualified for the state meet in this year. I have played baseball since I was four and it is my favorite sport. My favorite baseball team is the San Francisco Giants. After I graduate from Regis, I hope to attend the University of Texas for mechanical engineering.
Vivian Tran (Website Editor)
My name is Vivian Tran. I am 14 years old and a freshman at Regis High School. I am a new student of Regis St. Mary as I started going to Regis in 2024. I have one younger brother who goes to Sublimity Middle School as a sixth grader. I do football and basketball cheer as a sport. My hobbies include drawing, reading, writing, and playing the piano. Speaking of piano, I have been playing the piano for about 8 years now. Some other activities and subjects I like to do in school are the musical and (possibly) the play, and I take honors. Honors is quite an experience as it involves getting everything done in your own time, but I can understand the difficulty put into it.
Before Regis, I went to Sublimity Middle School and made plenty of friends. Regis is a great environment, and the teachers are nice and welcoming. A lot of the students are nice, and I have pretty good grades, too. I am not Catholic or Christian by any means, however, that doesn’t stop me from trying to do my best!
Kingston Whitmire (Video Editor)

My name is Kingston Kincaid Whitmire, and I am currently sixteen years old. I am a comedian, and I have many hobbies and interests, such as motorcycling, playing electric bass, listening to Rock n’ Roll, fishing, hunting, playing video games and board games, reading, exploring, hiking, and many more. I am not intensely interested in just one thing, so I drift among all groups. I play basketball, cross country, track and field, and tennis. It will be my third year of basketball and track and field and my second year with cross country. I am also friendly but competitive when it comes to sports and games.
I live on a ranch of forty-five acres with forty-four cows, thirty-four chickens, six dogs, five cats, and two little sisters, Kinsey and Rory. I used to go to Salem Academy until COVID-19 struck, and then I went online. Eventually, I went to St. Mary’s Middle School, from which I graduated, and I am now at Regis as a sophomore. My favorite foods are spaghetti, meatloaf, lasagna, sweet yams, and watermelon. I can tell this is going to be another fantastic year, seeing that our school and students rock at sports. I can’t wait to tell some jokes and win championships.
Cassidy Anglin (Website Editor)
I am Cassidy Anglin. I have been at Regis St. Mary’s for 10 years, and I am currently a Freshman at Regis St. Mary’s High School. I participated in three sports here at Regis: cross country, basketball, and track.
While in school here at Regis, my interests grew. I surround myself with extracurricular activities such as honors, the musical, theater, and anything I am allowed to do. I love to busy myself with work and helping others.
Outside of school, hiking, gardening, and anything that revolves around nature are where I usually like to spend my free time. I work on gardening all through spring through summer, growing a variety of plants such as squash to strawberries.
During the summer, I like to participate in basketball camps and read a variety of books. I always like to be outside when I can, even if pollen suffocates me from time to time. I enjoy spending time out with my friends, and I cross my fingers that I won’t forget everything I learned during school in the past year.
I want to attend Oregon State University and hopefully become a radiologist. If that does not work out, I hope to work in the biological world and help people on the sidelines, and not dig into people’s organs.
Hank Foltz

I’m Hank Foltz. This is my sophomore year of high school, and I’m 16 years old. After high school, I have to figure out the first four years of my adult life, but when I turn 21, I have plans to go to the police academy and then to the state police. As of right now, I’m really enjoying my time in school with my friends and working on the weekends. My favorite food is hamburgers and ice cream. The time of year I look forward to the most is fall because that is when the best season, hunting season, happens. I’m really into shooting as a sport, but it is quite expensive, so I can’t do it as much as I would like to. When I’m not in school hunting, shooting, or working, I’m most likely out on the track running or jumping and training for my half marathon on May 31st.
