1994 Regis High School

The 1994 school year at Regis saw many accomplishments in sports, academics, and activities. The yearbook has a lot of photos with sports pictures, friends, academics, etc.  I will investigate the facts about girls’ basketball because they had a good record and a great season overall. I will also talk about volleyball because they had a good record, and the coach was selected Coach of the Year. Lastly, I will be talking about the graduating class of 1994 because my mom and her friends graduated that year.

In 1994, the varsity volleyball team played 10 league games and two playoff games. For the league, they played Gervis, Jefferson, Santiam Christian, Waldport, Kennedy, Chemawa, Salem Academy, Scio, Colton, and Portland Christian. The two playoff games they played against Kennedy and Salem Academy. The varsity volleyball coach was Mr Heli. Mr Heli was selected as the coach of the year. There was a total of 11 players on the varsity volleyball team. The volleyball team also had sponsors, their sponsors were Stayton Auto Supply and Ixtapa Family Mexican Restaurant. The junior varsity and junior varsity II volleyball teams had great seasons as well. Their coaches were Coach Adams and Coach Smith. 

The girls’ basketball team in 1994 had a very good season.  The junior varsity played 16 games. The girls won a total of 14 games and lost 2 games. So overall, they had a great season. They were sponsored by D and W Automotive. The Girls’ JV team had a total of 9 players, and the coach was Mr. Bauer. From all the quotes the girls’ team wrote, it sounds like they had a lot of fun, and they made a lot of new friends. The Varsity team had 13 players and looked like they had a good season as well. The coach was Mrs. Stuckart, and all the photos they have this team looks like they had a lot of fun and great experiences. 

The Senior class of 1994 had a very big class; there was a total of 51 Students. My mom Sara Adams was a Senior during this time. I asked about her input about how her Senior Year was like. She said, “ From what I remember I couldn’t wait to get out of high school and go to college. I wanted to be an accountant make lots of money. I wasn’t exactly an angel those days either so my stories probably wouldn’t be that good to share. I remember just hanging out with my friends all the time and the funny thing is, they are still my friends today. I have been friends with them for over 40 years. I still remember spirit week and always having fun dress up”. From what she said it sounds like she had fun and made lots of memories.  

In conclusion, the class of 1994 had a goodyear. They had lots of sports accomplishments and overall fun. From all the sports pictures, it looks like they were able to make some good accomplishments and have lots of fun in the process. From quotes from the athletes, they seemed to have made a lot of friendships throughout their athletic careers. The graduating class also seemed to have lots of fun in general, and seemed to have good academic careers thanks to the teachers at Regis. I think that this class made friendships that lasted a long time, and we were able to have a great experience at Regis, which is really what it is about.
