Hank Foltz’s Easter Family Tradition

By Hank Foltz
On Easter Sunday, my family comes together to celebrate the most important event of our faith, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s a joyful day filled with love, faith, and family. The day begins with attending Mass, where everyone gathers to pray and remember how Jesus came back to life after dying on the cross. The church is full of happiness, with people singing hymns, and a special candle known as the Paschal candle is lit to show that Jesus is the light of the world.
After Mass, my family returns home to enjoy a special meal together. The table is usually filled with delicious foods, such as ham, eggs, and mac n cheese. But before dinner the younger kids in our family enjoy a fun tradition of searching for Easter eggs, which are hidden around the house or yard. The eggs are a symbol of the empty tomb where Jesus was laid, showing that He is alive.
Throughout the day, My family spends most of the time talking, laughing, and sharing blessings with one another. It’s a time to be thankful for the love of Jesus and the hope He brings. Easter Sunday is not only about eating and celebrating, but also about growing closer to each other and to God. The day helps everyone remember that Jesus gives us new life and that His love is always with us.
