Regis Track Meet

By James Hayes

On April 2, 2025, the Regis track team hosted an exciting icebreaker meet to kick off the new season. The event featured five attending schools, including East Linn Christian, Jefferson, Santiam, Waldport, and  Regis. The atmosphere was boisterous as athletes showcased their skills and determination on the track. Notably, Regis saw a substantial amount of personal records (PRs) being shattered, highlighting the hard work and dedication of its athletes. The boys’ competition was fierce, with the Jefferson team taking first place, closely followed by Regis, which showcased impressive performances. Meanwhile, the girls’ team, with only eight competitors, managed to secure fourth place, demonstrating their resilience and commitment. For our boys’ events, we had multiple first-place finishes, including Jude Pokorny getting first in the 100m, James Hayes first in the 200m, Stuart Mclaighlin first in the 1500, and finally, the boy’s varsity 4x100m team got first with Emmett Wagenaar, Trevon Kuenzi, Jude Pokorny, and James Hayes pulling it in. The girls had an impressive run and had lots of top-three finishes. All in all, the Rams had a great meet and many more to look forward to.
