The Muscial Experience As A Freshman
There are plenty of activities at Regis. However, one of the most significant events is the Musical! This year, the musical was Something Rotten! Many individuals, especially freshmen, have auditioned and performed in the musical. Now, when you are a freshman, it can be quite difficult to try out new activities when you don’t know anyone. However, as a freshman who tried out for the musical, I will assure you that it is a pleasant experience once you get used to the routine and after-school practices. Plus, anyone can get into the musical.
Once all of the stress of the auditions moves on, you can have fun even with a small part. All of the actors are supportive and are there for you whenever needed. They can offer you help when struggling with a specific part, or you can just have a light-hearted chat with them. The directors/teachers are also there to help you out. For example, you have the choreographer to help you go through the dances, vocal coaches to help with your singing, and the director to help you with all the acting. Everyone is genuinely supportive and wants to make great progress to make good musicals. By the time the actual musical run-through starts, it may be a nervous feeling at first glance, but it goes by really fast, so cherish the moments and have fun!
The only way to guarantee a good time is to follow along with instructions and do your part. If you don’t practice the dances or such, it will only slow everything down. Considering that not only one person does this. In the end, it is highly recommended to do the musical because it brings in great moments and makes new friends along the way.
