Something Rotten!

By: Logan Bach

Regis is doing a play called Something Rotten. Something Rotten is this witty tale about two brothers, Nick and Nigel Bottom, who will do anything to outdo William Shakespeare. Striving for greatness, they decide the sole means to beat the Bard is to create a musical—a daredevil and ironic gamble during an age when the genre didn’t exist. Headlined with A-list actors and creatives, the production could bring to life the saucy energy and comedy of the show with an energy that will captivate the masses with its catchy tunes and belly-laughing jokes.
As Tanner Lawson (one of the actors) puts it, “the Theater department is my favorite part of Regis.” This speaks not just to the quality of talent but to the friendship and sense of community that infuses the program. The students’ enthusiasm, mixed with the guidance of their instructors, creates an environment in which creativity and expression can flourish. Witnessing them work together to bring Something Rotten to the stage will be an experience that you will never forget, with guffaws and heartwarming performances. This is not a play, it is a testament to the talent and love of the Regis community, putting on display the commitment and abilities of each actor involved
