My choice about Regis

My choice involving Regis was when I joined the basketball team. When I joined the basketball team, it was the first time that I had ever played basketball on a team basis instead of street basketball, so I had no or little experience. I remember that I was nervous and excited as I got onto the court for our first practice.

At first, I couldn’t catch up with the drills. Shooting, passing, and reading the play were novel concepts to me. The team was wonderful in supporting me, showing me the fundamentals, and urging me to improve. Practice sessions were hard, yet I was determined to improve. I practiced hours after school improving my footwork and shots, and with the assistance of all the team players, I improved my confidence levels.

Throughout the season, I increasingly became part of the team. The teamwork was the most important factor in our games. My skills got better, but more than anything else, the friendships that I formed mattered to me. Playing on the basketball team at Regis was not just a game; it was about improvement, endurance, and being part of something more than myself.
