Digital Art

By: Ethan Shafer

I’ve been making digital art for around three years now, and this is my very first realistic piece (not ultra-realistic). This piece has a ton of meanings to me and can mean different things to other people. What this art means to me is focused on burnout, stress, standards, and more. A huge meaning to this for me is how I feel what is going on in my head all the time. The characters in my head are me differently; they are how I have perceived myself, not how I look. One of my characters is passed out against my head which exemplifies burnout from all the work I stack up for myself, one of them is goofing around with a paper airplane which I see as not taking things with a level of seriousness as I should sometimes. The guy who’s looking out into the void represents me as seeing my life as empty. Sometimes the guy covering his ears and looking at the mess is my regret in my life.

Some facts about this art!

  • I started this on September 22 2024 scrapped it picked it up again and finished it on November 24
  • It took 4 hours in total
  • I worked on it for 5 days in the 3 months
  • This is my first shot at semi-realistic art!
