Regis’ Indoor Batting Cage
By: Korben Schumacher
Regis’ indoor batting cage has been an idea for years but never came to fruition. However, with the help of many parents and benefactors around Regis, they decided to make it happen. The batting cage they built has dimensions of 40×90 feet. This makes for a lot of room for the baseball team to practice indoors, including hitting, pitching, and fielding, thanks to the artificial turf on the floor. This is important because here in Oregon, it rains a lot in the spring, which makes practicing outside difficult.
The batting cages are about to be completed, as they are putting the finishing touches on a team room with lockers and benches for the players. This room will be very convenient for storing baseball bags and items. We have needed a batting cage for years, and the team is excited to put it to use. Thank you to everyone who worked on and supported this project.
