Community Art Work
By Carli Stelljes
Regis has lots of different kinds of artwork. Whether it is spiritual, school-related, or a fun and inspirational quote. The art is displayed in the classrooms, the dome, the senior hall, and the hallway in the academic building. One piece of art that I like is the long painting that says community. This painting is displayed at the end of the academic building in freshman hall, right above the back doors. The painting is made up of multiple pieces, with each letter being on its own canvas. It is multiple different colors and each canvas has a different design. On each section, there is a picture that displays some part of a community. On one of them the O is the world that shows you the local community. My favorite part is the U with the dove behind it, which represents the spiritual community. I like this painting because it is colorful and reminds you that you are a part of a community. Community is an important part of Regis since it is your school community. Everyone at school, the teachers, classmates, and peers all make up your Regis community. This piece of art not only is fun to look at but also has a meaning that represents Regis as a whole.
