The Knights of Columbus Food Drive
By Kate Stelljes
The holiday season is upon us and this is the time of charity and giving. During this time, The Knights of Columbus asked Regis to help them put together food baskets for families in need during this Christmas season. To support the Knights of Columbus and help the people in need, here at Regis High School, we are putting on a canned food drive. The Student Council has been given the task of organizing the event. The Knights of Columbus provide them with a list of items that are needed and the items are then distributed between each grade. St. Mary’s is also asked to participate in the food drive so that everyone can help contribute. Students bring in the designated items on their class list to their Advisory classrooms and there the canned food is collected. This has become an annual event for the Regis community. The Freshmen will even go on a field trip to the Grocery Outlet in Stayton, on Friday, December 8, where they will purchase as many items as they can for the food drive. In past years, Regis has raised so much that they had extra food that was delivered to the Stayton Food Bank.
