All About Mrs. O’Neill
By Kate Stelljes
Mrs. O’Neill was born in Temple, Texas because her father was stationed there in the army. She only lived there for six weeks, until she moved to Buffalo, New York, where she could be closer to family and her mother could have support while her father was stationed in Vietnam. Since her father was in the army, she grew up in many places including Indiana, Holland (the country), western Illinois, and New Jersey. She mainly grew up in Illinois because her father was stationed north of Chicago at Ft. Sheridan for eight years. She continued to move homes even in adulthood and at varied times in her life, she has lived in New York, Wisconsin, and Arizona. She recently moved to Oregon to be closer to her only son, Michael, her daughter-in-law, Briahna, and her grandson, Simon.
Mrs. O’Neill has had a variety of career paths in her life; from being an instructional designer at the collegiate level to a technology literacy specialist. At one point, she even wanted to be a professional actor or singer. Her most passionate career has been teaching. She has taught from sixth grade through college students in Arizona, Wisconsin, New York, and now Oregon. This is her 29th year of teaching.
Mrs. O’Neill came to work at Regis when she moved to be closer to her son and preferred to work in the environment of a Catholic school. She enjoys baking, decorating, reading, and singing. She is very close to her family and has four siblings. She lives with her husband and her three little dogs, Teddy, Jack, and Dutton. Mrs. O’Neill is a talented and kind person and Regis is happy to have her.
