Sacred Marian Art

By Hailey Kearns

There is tons of fantastic art here at Regis. There is one that sticks out to me more than any other art because I find it so pleasing to look at. It is a beautiful picture of Mary in the chapel at Regis. It’s not your typical Marian art. In this painting, Mary has different facial features; she looks younger. The heart in her chest is more beautiful because of the added flowers. This Mary has blue eyes and her hair is a light brown color. This painting is so well done, It looks as l if Mary was present physically as a real person.

I just really enjoy this picture because it’s so pleasing to look at.  The picture of Mary is hanging up in the dome where we would normally have mass. The picture shows us what and why we are praying for, which is why this picture of Mary was picked for the chapel.
