Greens Bridge Cross Country Meet

By Gabriel Keough

The Regis cross country team is gearing up for another meet. This time we are going to Green’s Bridge Garden invite. This promises to be another great run, and a good chance to compete. We will be running a 2 mile course, so that means fast, with lots of pain. At this distance it is all about controlling breathing and giving it everything you’ve got till you drop. With these short distances, you can never walk. Because it is so short, walking for even a minute would be devastating to your time.

Sep 20, 23.

The meet was a great success, with the boys taking first place and the girls finishing 3rd, with Claire Persons running a 14:15. The boys ran hard to the finish with Julius Pokorny and Stuart McLaughlin getting 2nd and 3rd place with the times of 11:45 for Julius and 11:57 for Stuart. Other good runners were Lucas(13:11) Isahiah Koehnke(13:30) and Jude Pokorny right in between with a 13:28. Harper Stoops(13:51) and Caleb Mayer (14:05) also ran very hard. The girls also ran well with Sophia Wagner running a 19:29, and Calista Anglin running a 23:30. Even though it was not great running conditions, considering the sun, heat, and course, everyone persevered and gave it their all. The feeling of crossing the finish line was amazing, and the post-race routine started. Everyone was in a rush to find out their place and times. We were even given free apples afterward. In the end, it was another great Cross Country meet for Regis.
