Club vs High School Volleyball
By: Lauren Dean
Volleyball in general has a long history. Back in 1895, William G. Morgan invented the sport. There are multiple types of volleyball such as beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, wallyball, and club volleyball. Club volleyball is an opportunity to play volleyball outside of high school or middle school-sponsored activities. Families pay for their children to play. Teams will practice approximately two to four times per week and play anywhere from six to twelve tournaments on weekends, depending on the club.
My experience with club volleyball has been so much fun. I loved traveling with my teammates. Some of my favorite moments with my teammates were stopping for dinner. Club volleyball also taught me competitiveness and how to deal with winning or losing. High school volleyball was fun for me also. I enjoyed playing with my classmates and traveling across the state to play different schools.
