Mrs. Mendez

JaAnna Mendez is the Regis cheer coach, art teacher, and 9th and 10th grade ELA teacher, and she runs the Regis yearbook. Mrs. Mendez has been teaching art for 3 years here at Regis. In her opinion, 3d art is much better than 2d art. Right now, she likes teaching art and ELA the same amount. However, in high school, art was always her favorite subject. She also loved cheer and softball in high school and could never pick between them. Her favorite cheer for Regis is the “Regis Rumble” because she’s never heard it before, so it is new and exciting. She is a mother to six children who also enjoy art. She continues to do art in her free time as a hobby.
Mrs. Mendez said if she could ask for one thing for the Regis art department, it would be new sinks and countertops. One thing she wants everyone to know is that “Regis students are lucky to have such a supportive and loving community around them, caring about their success and happiness.” She supports all student-athletes inside and outside of the student section. After taking many classes taught by Mrs. Mendez, I can personally say that she is an amazing teacher. She is always understanding of different learning styles inside the classroom. We are lucky to have her and very lucky that she is open to balancing many different jobs for Regis.
