Regis Rams vs Colton Vikings

By: Mayla Manning

Our Own Regis Rams softball team defeated the Colton Vikings with an ending score of 24 to 4, a big W for the Rams. Mackenzie Schacher had four strikeouts in two innings, and Amy Martinez had a little tumble during one of the last innings going after a loose ball. Lina Rutkowski made two plays from second base. Along with getting hits, many of the softball players got hit. These players included Lauren Dean, Hadley Foster, Mylah Etzel, Lily Jepsen, Ali Hendricks, and last but not least Abby Kintz, who has been hit by a pitch six times this season.

Our seniors have made huge impacts on each player and coach on our team, they have built a community on and off the field. Each of them helped the team majorly during our game against Colton by making many big plays such as Amy Martenez scoring 4 runs and Ali Hendricks scoring 2. Our freshmen and sophomores have made big changes on the field including Hadley Foster catching a line drive and scoring many runs, Mackenzie Schachaer coming in as a relief pitcher and having 4 strikeouts, and hitting 2 triples. As I said before Abby Kintz has taken a beating at the plate this season getting hit by the pitch 6 times in only four games this season she is easily one of the toughest players on the team. We are hoping to see much more of our Rams this season.
