Wrestling District Tournament
By: Talan Hensley
On February 11th, our boy’s wrestling team traveled all the way to Knappa for their district tournament. They left the high school at 4:00 am to get there on time. Weigh-ins were at 7:00 so they were slightly pressed for time. Wrestling started at 9:00.
Eli Bischoff won two out of his four matches, with two byes which got him 5th place. Out of John Nusom’s four matches, he came out victorious in two of them. Lucas Bischoff won all four of his matches due to a pin in the 1st round. Thomas Bischoff triumphed in all of his matches getting him 1st place. Logan Kirsch won four out of his five matches, getting him 3rd place and taking him to state. Our big boy Noah Emch secured three wins, getting him 3rd place and also taking him to state.
Based on how all of them did in the district tournament, we have four people going to state this year. Lucas Bischoff (160) who placed 1st, Thomas Bischoff (170) who also placed first, Logan Kirsch (182) who placed 3rd, and Noah Emch (220) who placed 3rd as well. I’d also like to give an honorable mention to Eli Bischoff (113) who placed 5th.
