Knights of Columbus Food Drive
By: Hadley Foster
The Knights of the Columbus food drive has arrived. The Freshman class went to a grocery outlet last week. We were put into groups and told to buy a specific food item. We ended up spending $409.26 and purchasing 288 cans of food. The food drive’s goal is to purchase 1000 items for people in need. Each class has a plan, and when they reach them they will receive a prize, such as a free dress or a movie in Mr.Tabor’s class.
Every year Regis puts on a food drive for the students to bring in cans. The goal is 1000 cans but of course, we are welcome to bring more. The competition is to see what class can bring the most cans in. The Juniors won the can food drive with a total of 810 cans. Second place was the Freshman with 380, third place was the Seniors with 363, and finally in last place, the Sophomores with 202 cans. Lily Jepsen said, “It feels good to give back to people in need!”
