Fellowship of Christian Athletes
By: Sophie Wagner
If you are a Christian athlete and want to relate your athletic life to your faith, you should consider joining FCA. FCA stands for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Here at Regis, we have our own FCA group. We meet, or “huddle,” every Thursday during our lunch period. Rachel Koellmann coordinates the group. There are about ten members, including Br. Daniel and Br. Ricardo.
So what is FCA? Rachel Koelmann says, “FCA is a newly instated Bible study club occurring every Thursday at lunch on the Regis campus. The goal is to reach out to other fellow athletes and tie the word of God with their interest in sports. It is meant to be fun and light-hearted while digging deep into the word. Although it is a club meant for athletes, it is welcome to all who want to join.” When we meet, we read passages from our special FCA Bibles. After the readings, there are discussion questions for the group. We talk about our responses and just enjoy our time together.
We have met in Mr. Tabor’s room for the past two weeks because of the auction. Typically we will meet in the student conference room in the dome. So if you are interested, it’s not too late!
